Program/Project Description:

Our client has been the prime on this contract for the last 20 years.  The contract is focused on providing systems support for a large Declassification effort.  The program manages a ton of paperwork and they ideally would like to move their applications, tools and documents up in the C2S cloud.  As part of this, they have a huge effort for the next 12 months to build an Environment that puts all of the Analysts tools into the cloud.  This effort is going to take a lot of Software and Data Integration and Data Migration following an Agile, Test Driven Development methodology.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

The Lead Apps Developer will work across multiple development teams to develop and enhance enterprise or departmental IT systems, from project inception to completion.  The immediate focus for this position is to coordinate development among multiple teams of a high profile/high priority project with a tight deadline.  This position requires in-depth hands-on experience developing software in a team environment, where customer focus, cooperation, communication and continual trade-craft improvements are the norm.  They will be called upon to provide technical guidance in software engineering techniques, DevOps best practices and automated support tools.  They will work with the IT Solutions Functional Lead to ensure personnel are tasked to their abilities/skill levels and review work for correctness, adherence to the design concept, user standards and progress relative to schedules.  They will work closely with the Lead Architect to help translate requirements/architectural diagrams into action items for the development teams.  Ability to make sound decisions, take independent action, analyze problems, interact with government customers regularly and provide focused solutions.  Ability to interface with management as well as development teams.  Professional demeanor, good interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written.

  • Experience with developing Java web applications
  • Experience with AWS and DevOps
  • Experience with JavaScript libraries/frameworks (examples: JQuery, Angular and ExtJS)
  • Experience with Java web technologies (for example Spring and J2EE), experience with creating HTML, CSS, XML and JSON
  • Experience with scripting languages (for example: Python or Bash/Shell)
  • Experience with Linux web server configuration
