BACK END JAVA DEVELOPER

Position Description:

Our client has been the prime on this contract for the last 6+ years.  The mission of the program is to provide IT, O&M Support Services to the customer' s Enterprise and Mission Systems, across multiple areas within the customer.  This contract has been consolidating many smaller contracts under one umbrella to be able to give the customer one button to push from an overall management perspective.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

Application Developer to support development and maintenance of large enterprise information system.

Java, JEE (JSF, JSP, Servlet, JMS), Hibernate, JPA, Spring Framework, Apache Tomcat, Active MQ (or similar JMS server), SOA (Apache Axis or similar framework), JavaScript, JQuery, Oracle or similar database.

Must have strong technical and analytical skills in SOA and hands-on experience with system to system integration.

Must be able to work effectively with other developers to communicate and exchange design/implementation ideas to achieve integration goals.

Required:
  • Minimum two years of demonstrated on-the-job experience developing applications using Java.
  • Must have strong technical and analytical skills in SOA and hands-on experience with system to system integration.
  • Must be able to work effectively with other developers to communicate and exchange design/implementation ideas to achieve integration goals.
  • Experience using Spring and Hibernate
  • Experience using JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, or other scripting languages.
  • Experience with database development with SQL databases such as MySQL and Oracle.
  • Experience working as full-time software developer, developing complex applications with large customer bases.
  • Experience identifying engineering and technology risks with the potential to impact IT plans and developing plans to mitigate risks.
  • Experience IDEs (Integrated Development Environments) such as NetBeans or Eclipse

Desired:
  • Experience maintaining and developing applications in the customer' s organization.
  • Experience engineering complex J2EE applications to satisfy complex requirements.
  • Experience code deliver mechanisms such as Maven or Ant.
  • Experience with code repositories such as Subversion or Git.
  • IBM Maximo
  • Agile environment.
  • Unix/Linux experience.
  • PL/SQL experience
  • Experience using HTML, CSS, XML or other web technologies.
